I am the author of Her Final Gift and A Patch of Cotton. On this website, you can learn more about these books and view my blog posts, A Book Unwritten. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Howard for thirty five years. We have a large blended family scattered across this great country. We came together in marriage with a lot of baggage. Between the two of us we had six children, my four (the first deceased), and his two. We were not the Brady Bunch!
The first few years the kids were always coming and going, but somehow God worked through all the issues we had and made something beautiful of our lives. Our children have blessed us with twenty-five grandchildren, and yes, you read that right. And three great-grandchildren!
And though we have a lot of happiness, success, and blessings, we have also suffered losses. Our beautiful Amy, the baby of the family, succumbed to brain cancer in February, 2015 and left behind her husband and children. We miss her terribly but rejoice with her that she is whole and healthy in Heaven. We were sent to Virginia in 1991 by the Army. We had every intention of returning to our home state of Arkansas, but here we are, still in the same home we bought in 1992. I have been a Realtor since 1993 and never dreamed that I would some day be an author.
I've always wanted my parent's love story to be told. Not knowing how to make that happen I sat down at my computer one day and began to write. Four years later I saw my first book, Her Final Gift, in print. I discovered a new love. Now, there is a second book, A Patch of Cotton. And a third in the works. I am on a new adventure and I hope you will join me.
I would be remiss if I didn't share my faith with you. I gave my life to Jesus when I was only eleven at the First Baptist Church in Lake City, Arkansas during a revival on a summer night. God has carried me through some rough times in my life, even when I was the one who went astray and created the messes I found myself in. But His love and grace are unlimited in measure and He never leaves us or forsakes us. And He ALWAYS forgives.
Deuteronomy 31:8 It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will never leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
